A couple of tweets caught my eye this evening. Apparently, Jay Z has sent his cousin (Bee-High) to Nigeria to source for talent:
It looks like Jay Z really did send his cousin to Nigeria to search for new talent. http://t.co/UBtmSMlHxh

And then, twitter user @Fazillion sounds the slavery alarm:
Jay Z Dey Find Awoof Market , Naija Artistes Are Wiser Now, They Are Eating Good, And Dont Need “Slave Help”
— FAZILLION (@FAZILLION) April 26, 2015
but, apparently…
For those that don’t know, Ice Prince is already on Tidal, Yung6ix is on Tidal, Erigga is already on Tidal. I tweeted links weeks ago

Well, @Fazillion is so sure that Tidal is the devil, so he continues…
Spinlet >> Tidal , Keep Our Royalties At Home

I really do not what the noise is about. This reminds me of the silly lawsuit seeking to bar DSTv from increasing their tarriff. If Tidal is offering a better deal than other platforms, why shouldn’t Nigerian acts sign up? And whats all the talk about slavery?
Tidal is offering 75% of earnings to artistes. Some think this is too small, but consider that Tidal’s subscription is higher than that of competitors…so the earnings are remarkably higher.
