Singer Adokiye’s Almost Nude Magazine Photo Shoot

When we first got these photos, we were not sure if we should post or just reach for the soap/tissue (*straight face*). Apparently, she struck a $200,000 (plus a G Wagon Mercedes Benz car) deal with a magazine tabloid in New York, USA for this raunchy photo spread. One of Nigeria’s new singer…

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Isi Akahome

I met Isi Akahome many years ago, like 8 years ago. I was still young, new to Lagos and looking for artistic minds to commune with. I found him. He had this impressionistic view of the world that I found really alluring. Then I realized his artistic mind was something…

Listen, Download: Tombo, by Diwari

After trying out in the second season of the talent show Nigerian Idol, the young R&B singer is ready to take on the industry with strong vocals, a collage of songs filled R&B-Soul genres and a pocket full of dreams. She recently released her first song – Tombo, a pop-esque…

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Samuel Dogini

Samuel Dogini and I met through a very close friend and since then, we have kept in touch, brainstormed and rubbed minds together. He is as intelligent as he sounds in this conversation with me. More so, he is very articulate and understands the society he lives in more than…

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Obinwanne Okeke

In life, you will always meet some people who will make you readjust and think about your own life, no matter how successful you think you’ve become. This happens more when you are young. It happened with Obinwanne Okeke. Meeting him made me feel a lot energetic towards my career…

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Kolawole Olajide

I met Kolawole Olajide at the India House in Lagos this year. The First Secretary of the Indian embassy, Mrs Rani Malick (who happens to be my mother) had invited me to a dinner, to introduce me to the ‘core team’ members of the IndiaAfrica Business Awards. The Indian Government had sponsored a bunch of Indians to Nigeria for an awards event, where two ‘young’ Nigerians were invited to speak on ‘competition’ at an earlier event.

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Yinka Bode-George

He is Yoruba, yet, he speaks Igbo, because his mother is Igbo. All these things have nothing to do with what he is doing at the moment, but it’s always better to blow one’s trumpet for them once in a while, as Yinka is not one known to do such things for himself. He is very laidback and this has made a lot of people say he is very arrogant and distant, yet, he is one of the most jovial and down-to-earth people I’ve met.

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Stephen Chukwumah

Stephen Chukwumah is perhaps, one of the most travelled young Nigerians under 25. I’ve known him for a long time; more as a nomad, more as a man who tries to bear his pain alone. Yet, he has inspired very many young people scattered round the country and beyond. Each time we find time to hang out, he likes to talk passionately about the things he is involved in.

Atoke's Tips: To Getting A Good Woman

I spent the last week ruminating on the veracity of IK Osakioduwa’s TipsToGettingAMAn. I’ve also been trying to find a Nigerian celebrity, who is, prima facie, happily married with 2 kids (poster image of perfection), who would be willing to write Ten Tips To Getting and Keeping A Woman. The fact that you’re reading this now, means that I have been unsuccessful.

I believe that there’s no such thing as “One Size Fits All” especially with relationship issues because of difference in personalities and backgrounds/upbringing. If you don’t believe me, just check out the comments section of blogs and websites…. it’s a riot! There is a truth to every comment… as true to the mind of the writer as can be imagined. It might be a lie, but the person believes it to be true and that is enough for the person.

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Sharon Ezeamaka

Sharon is one of the rising stars in Nollywood as she has been acting since she was 5 years old and she definitely is on top of the list of Nollywood’s best child actors. She is very articulate and wise beyond her years and it’s always a pleasure to watch and listen to her.

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue speaks with Peter Bunor Jnr.

Peter Bunor Jnr has grown. He is all grown now and it was a big problem for me to recognize him easily. Yet, it was when we started talking and talking that I realized this was Peter Bunor’s son; that veteran Nollywood actor that was almost in every Nollywood film.

In Conversations: Onyeka Nwelue talks to Uchemba Williams

Quick question. Where do child (prodigy) actors go when they quit/pause acting? Mars, Zamfara? A job at NNPC? oh, back to school? As a child actor, Uchemba Williams starred in scores of headlining Nollywood movies. He starred in movies beside Akin, Pawpaw and was praised and celebrated for his acting…

MI2: Still Waiting

Its 5 p.m. and I’m rushing home from work, hoping that today is the day that I finally find MI2 to buy in traffic. And look! There it was!!! I could hardly contain myself.  I bought the CD, and popped it into the player and I waited for the music…

Sasha: Yes Boss…Lady.

‘First Lady’ for me was the first experience, the ultimate experience. It’s a different thing when you work on different people’s albums, doing features. I wrote things that I was passionate about; a song like ADARA was really like therapy because it got to a point where I was frustrated and depressed.

UnRuly Event: A drink with Bobby Taylor @ SWE Bar
