Madonna reinvented herself and her ”girls” on the cover of Interview’s Art Issue. The pop phenomenon born Madonna Louise Ciccone in Michigan in the year 1958 is a singer, songwriter, actress, filmmaker, and pure entertainer.
Madonna was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, she can be seen in the picture below with a daisy in her mouth and some sort of identity-obscuring gladiator mask.
Madonna was interviewed by David Blaine, using a “pick-a-card” interview technique which is appropriate for a magician.
When Blaine mentions the stunt where he stayed in a glass box for 44 days, Madonna says and i quote ”I think I would really enjoy it, stillness and quiet, because I feel like people are always talking to me, at me, asking things, questioning me, wanting information, work, music, loud noises, children — it’s endless. So the idea of a whole day of silence sounds very seductive to me.”
According to Interview Magazine Madonna the Icon is herself her own greatest work of art—something so vastly influential as to be unfathomable.
She also talks about her favorite artists (Banksy and JR), her obsession with death, and why she’s over doing drugs. The issue comes out on stands December 9, You can read the full interview at Interview’s art issue.
