Team Elan, winners of the maiden edition of Fayrouz L’Original Expression show, adorned the runway of the ongoing Lagos Fashion and Design week (LFDW) with one of the most exciting collections of the season, yesterday at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
The group of 4 consisting of a Designer, Make Up Artist(MUA), Photographer and Model, gave a grand opening of the show and captivated fashionistas present, with the display of original designs, which featured interesting handprints, corporate looks and casual wears.
According to founder and artistic director of Style House Files, organizers of LFDW, Omoyemi Akerele, who was also the creative director of Fayrouz L’Original competition, “These guys are certainly worth every penny. It was glaring that everyone enjoyed watching them on the runway. The originality displayed is very commendable and I would certainly love to own one of their pieces”, she said.
Team Elan’s designer, Nathan, also commended Fayrouz for the opportunity, saying, “This is an opportunity that would remain memorable for a lifetime. My team members and I are extremely grateful to Fayrouz for this amazing platform and we will continue to do you proud as we forge ahead”, he said.
Other designers that have showcased their works include April by Kunbi, Phunk Afrique, Maki Oh, Grey, Pablo Sisiano etc. While Mai Atafo, Jewel By Lisa, Orange Culture, Bridget Awosika, Okunoren Twins, Lanre Da Silva, Ejiro Amos Tafiri and other talented designers will also be showcasing their works at the Fayrouz sponsored LFDW, which ends on the 1st of November.
Team Elan came tops at the Fayrouz L’Original expression show, a youth targeted fashion competition, which held earlier this year with the winning prize of 20,000 dollars and various fashion opportunities.
Fayrouz promises to keep supporting the Nigerian youth in everyway possible and urges every young designer, model, photographer and makeup artist to get their game together in preparation for the 2015 edition of the Fayrouz L’Orignal expression show, which promises to be better and bigger than the first.
