Baba Hafusa , the 3 rd  studio album by Nigerian rapper Reminisce has debuted at Number 12 on the Billboard World Music Albums Chart. Having received massive critical acclaim, the album which is selling out fast both online and offline made it to the prestigious music chart this past week  http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/2015-05-16/world-albums   (Subscription required ).
Tuface Idibia’s  Ascension  as well as ASA’s  Beautiful Imperfection  are the only other Nigerian albums to have made it to the  Billboard  top world music album chart,   debuting at number 12 and number 5 respectively. No Nigerian Hip-Hop album has ever made it to the chart.
The  Baba Hafusa  album released 30 th  of April 2015 remained on the number one spot on the iTunes World Music chart for seven days straight, prompting fans, critics and music aficionados to label Reminisce’s 3 rd  album as a major contender for  Album of the Year  in any Nigerian or African music award lineup. Chart positions on the Billboard Chart are generally determined by key fan interactions with artistes’ music, and include album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay as well as social media interactions.

That's How I Ended Up With A Brand New TECNO Boom J7

A week ago, I got an invite to attend a buffet with the guys from TECNO Nigeria at the Four Points Sheraton. I love the food they serve at those 4 Points buffets, especially when I’m not paying. It was quite a pleasant surprise as my personal people whom I hadn’t seen in ages were all there: Drew Baba, Unilag Olodo, Kaffy, Jesse Oguntimehin, and Charles Edosomwan, even my home girl That1960Chick was there.

The general gist was about what TECNO has set out to achieve in Africa, focusing on Nigeria, and the processes through which it aims to attain those achievements. Basically, friendship and research are the 2 main ingredients they were putting forward to us. We got to know them, had a great time, a good meal, laughs, shared experiences, took lots of photos, and then, they introduced us to the most recent result their researchers had churned out: The Boom J7.

My TECNO Boom J7
The TECNO Boom J7 is an entertainment mobile device. The music production is awesome, the back camera is 8MP, internal memory is 16GB, the battery life is lengthy, the OS is Android, but the best part of it all was the price. Asked by the TECNO representatives to guess, I mentioned the highest price as N40,000 based on the design and features, Unilag Olodo guessed the lowest possible price as N25,000, and it turned out to be N24,000. Seems that boy is not quite the olodo he claims to be.
For me, the feature I’ve used the most is the is the WiFi hotspot to share internet to my other devices (due to the long battery life), then the Boom Player which is unique to this phone, and comes with more than 2,000 pre-installed, fully licensed songs that include Naija music. The earphones which come with the Boom J7 are quite impressive too. I’ve compared with several devices and the best result was coming tops against my nephew’s Beat By Dre SOLO headphones. TRY IT!

I’ve been very busy with my Boom J7, especially taking photos and generally, asking friends to try it out. If you happen to see me anywhere, just ask to check it out yourself. I take it everywhere as my primary internet hotspot. Here are some pictures I took with the Boom J7’s 8MP camera. It’s nowhere near my Lumia 1020’s 41MP, but it  does about what almost every high-end Smartphone can achieve with its camera.
